One of our weekend adventure this rainy season was a long trek to one of the hidden natural wonders in Puerto Princesa City – Tibag Waterfalls. We got a tip from friends who went there and we were convinced of its beauty. Tibag Waterfalls indeed herald a magnificent view and enticing burbles of rapid and clear river waters racing down a cliff. The irregular contour of the cliff created several pathways for water to flow down causing a wider expanse of the waterfall.
It is best visited during rainy season when water is probably abundant from the source. Its approximately 7 kilometers from the highway if you follow the trail which took us 2 and a half hours to hike up. You’d cross two rivers which can go knee to a waist deep depending on the rainfall, and half of the trail gets narrow with plants and young hard trees on both sides. If you cannot identify a trail from a rain groove, you can easily get lost. Along the way, by the river, you will be motivated by the noise and scenic views of several mini waterfall structures which will lure you to settle and camp there. But don’t settle there, and later regret and say, “I could have gone further”. Difficult and long muddy and rocky roads often Lead to Beautiful Destinations.
So before you plan to go there, Here are important tips from my wife:

Before:
1. Pray for rainy weather before your planned date para sobrang daming water pag dating nyo dun..but pray na hindi uulan pag punta at pag uwi dahil yung pagod nyo papunta madodoble.
2 Expect to see spectacular and beautiful waterfalls.. Di ka malulugi sa lahat ng pagdadaanan mo papunta dun. gawin mo itong driving force to do: 1 week warm up inorder to loosen up the buto-buto dahil maraming lakaran at akyatan mga besh🤣
3. make sure to use waterproof bag for your gadgets.. Kung wala ka nun dala ka ng plastic for the same use.. para safe gadgets mo just in case uulan.. dapat may plan B ka talaga besh😊
4. Make sure to wear comfortable quick dry hiking shoes with socks.. dahil magaan at maraming ilog lulusubin nyo.. highly recommended Sandugo and Merell quick dry hiking shoes. (proven n tested)
5. Make sure fully charged mga camera at cell phone nyo.. Though walang signal sa baba pero may 4G besh sa waterfalls.. Pwd kayo maka Fb live sa ganda🤣
6. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing.. Yung ready ka sa basaan pero wag yung clothing na pang beach ha..hehehe.. baka pag labas mo para kang sinamurai🤣
7. Make sure to apply insect repellant all over ur exposed skin.. And reapply every now n then.. Dahil mababasa ka ng tubig at sariling pawis🤣
8. Dont forget to apply sunblock ( yun yung nakalimutan namin😔).. hindi mo ramdam ang init pero pag uwi mo makikita mo may before n after color yung beautiful skin mo.
9. Bring chocolate bar, your comfort food or any energy food of your preference… and make sure to bring ur trash with u😁
10. Pwd kayo mag ihaw ihaw dun, bring ICE, DRINKS, at iba pa.. basta willing kayo magdala ng mabibigat..advise lang mga besh dapat naka distribute yung pag dala kasi kawawa ang magdadala ng mga dalahin nyo.. sabihin ko sayo MAHIRAP.
option B: pwd kayo kanya kanyang dala ng any take out food.. And make sure to always BRING ALL YOUR TRASH ha.. its a MUST.. Para mapanatili nating malinis ang PALAWAN😊
11. Determine kung sino sino ang sasama dahil hindi ito recommended for all ages.. esp to the vulnerable population meaning not for kids and grannies (pictures lang para sa kanila) at kung hindi mo bet ang mga physical challenge activity den hindi ito para sau dahil sabihin ko sau mapapa laban ka😁
12. Kung meron kayong 4×4 Car or off road motorcycle or any car pwd nyong dalhin hanggang kung saan kayanin ng sasakyan nyo para ma lessen ang walking time..and PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK.
WARNING:
1. Sa mga hindi 4×4 car/offroad motorcyle – malalaki at may mga matutulis na bato.. Pero kung willing ka to risk at may extra tire ka.. Pwedeng pwde..pero pag hindi dont worry.. May parking space sa highway🤣
